Evolution Analytics (Corpus)

Evolution analytics show how many active documents and associated elements have been published or added to the corpus over time.

This is useful to visualise the temporal dimension of your corpus and examine when documents were published or added to the corpus.

Parameters

  • Property. Select what temporal property you want to examine: publication date or inclusion date.
  • Resolution. Select the temporal resolution for the results, between centuries and seconds. Typical values depend very much on the time span of the documents in your corpus.

Results

Results are given as a series of charts. All the charts show a temporal horizontal axis for the property that you selected as paramenet, and using the selected resolution.

Counts

The chart shows how many documents occurred for each time point as vertical bars. It also shows vertical bars for the number of related folders, labels, topics and authors occurred for the first time for each time point.

In addition, the chart shows lines to visualise accumulated document, folder, label, topic and author counts over time.

This chart is useful to find out when documents (and the associated elements) occurred, and whether occurrence is regular over time or has important peaks or valleys.

Documents in Folders

The chart shows how many documents occurred for each time point and for each folder. In the case your corpus contains too many folders to get a clear chart, you can select the maximum number of folders to show from the drop down box in the toolbar.

This chart is useful to find out when documents occurred for each particular folder, and to compare the evolution of each folder against the others.

Documents with Labels

The chart shows how many documents occurred for each time point and for each label. In the case your corpus contains too many labels to get a clear chart, you can select the maximum number of labels to show from the drop down box in the toolbar.

This chart is useful to find out when documents occurred for each particular label, and to compare the evolution of each label against the others.

Documents with Topics

The chart shows how many documents occurred for each time point and for each topic. In the case your corpus contains too many topics to get a clear chart, you can select the maximum number of topics to show from the drop down box in the toolbar.

This chart is useful to find out when documents occurred for each particular topic, and to compare the evolution of each topic against the others.

Documents of Authors

The chart shows how many documents occurred for each time point and for each author. In the case your corpus contains too many authors to get a clear chart, you can select the maximum number of authors to show from the drop down box in the toolbar.

This chart is useful to find out when documents occurred for each particular author, and to compare the evolution of each author against the others.
