Backstage

The backstage is the area in a window where general management commands are available.

You can open the backstage by clicking the top-left button in the ribbon of any window. The backstage button is shown circled in red in the figure.

Open backstage button — The circled button opens the backstage for any window.

The backstage area contains commands to, for example, view and edit dataset properties, create new datasets, open or save datasets, import and export data, change application settings, or get to the Registration and Feedback web pages.

When the backstage is open, you can use any of its commands and menus. To close the backstage and go back to the normal window, click the close button on the top left corner, as circled in red in the figure.
