LogosLink version 2.0.0
Windows
All the windows in LogosLink Desktop have a similar structure.
There is a ribbon across the top of the window.
The ribbon has different tabs, each containing buttons to carry out different tasks.
The leftmost tab is a button that you can use to open up the backstage.
An elements pane takes the left-hand side of the window.
In this pane you will find a list or tree (depending on the view) containing the elements that make up the dataset.
You can switch between views by using the Organise and View By buttons in the View ribbon tab.
At the top of the elements pane there is a quick find box.
You can type anything into this box to quickly locate elements that match the entered text.
Stacked behind the elements page you can find bookmarks and comments panes.
You can use these to add and review the bookmarks and comments in your dataset.
You can show or hide bookmark and comment panes via the corresponding buttons in the View ribbon tab.
One or more diagram panes may appear on the right-hand side, depending on the type of dataset.
Ontologies and argumentation models have diagrams; other datasets do not.
You can show or hide diagram panes via the corresponding buttons in the View ribbon tab.
Similarly, a content pane may appear at the bottom of the window.
Ontologies, argumentation models and agency models have text contents; other datasets do not.
You can show or hide the context panes via the Content button in the View ribbon tab.
Finally, the centre of the window is taken by the pages area, which show property pages as you open and close them.
Property pages include, for example:
- Pages to edit elements such as speakers, categories, propositions or questions.
- Pages containing statistics or other reports.
- Pages to run analytics.
The bottom of the window shows a status bar, which displays various items of information:
- The task that LogosLink Desktop is carrying out, such as running an analyser or saving a file.
- The active and total number of documents in a corpus.
-
Whether the dataset is read-only or read/write.
For a corpus, you can change this via the Access Mode button in the Home ribbon tab.
- Your analyst or user name.
-
An indicator of whether the dataset has changes pending to be saved.
If the rightmost indicator lights up in red, there are unsaved changes.
If it is grey, then your dataset has been saved and there are no further changes.
