Create an Independent Question Set and Add Some Elements
A question set can reside in an independent file on a computer.
Follow these steps to create a new independent question set:
- Open LogosLink Desktop.

If no dataset is open, click on Question Set in the Home ribbon tab.
Alternatively, open the backstage and click on New, Question Set.
A dialog box will be shown.
- Type in a name for the question set.

Give the question set a description, if you wish.
You can always edit this later on.

Click OK to create the question set.
LogosLink Desktop shows a blank Question Set window for the newly created question set.
This question set is not saved yet, so it only exists in memory and not on a file.

Save the question set to a file by clicking the Save button on the Home ribbon tab.
A Save Question Set As dialog box appears.
- Select the directory where you want to save the question set, and give it a name.

Click OK to save it.
LogosLink Desktop saves it.
Once the question set has been created, and even before you save it, you can add or remove elements to it.
Follow these steps to add a few elements to your question set:
- Switch to the Insert ribbon tab.

Click the New Question Group button to add a new question group.
A dialog box will show.
- Enter a name for the question group, such as "Text Structure".

LogosLink Desktop generates a code for you.
You can alter this code manuallyif you wish.
- If an identifier has not been automatically generated, click the
button to obtain one.
- Click on Create to create the question group.
- Make sure that the just added question group is selected on the Elements pane on the left.

Click the New Itemised Question button to add a new itemised question to the group.
A dialog box will show.

Check that the Owner group field shows the question group just added.
If it doesn't, select it.
- Enter the wording for the question, such as "What parts exist in the text?".
- If an identifier has not been automatically generated, click the
button to obtain one.
- Click on Create to add the new question in the group.
- Find the question group you just added in the Elements pane on the left.

Right-click the quesiton group.
A context menu appears.

Check that the Owner group field shows the category just added.
A dialog box will show.

Check that the Owner group field shows the question group just added.
If it doesn't, select it.
- Enter the wording for the question, such as "What agents are mentioned in the first part of the text?".
- Check the Allows multiple box to allow the analyst to provide multiple agents as a response to this question.
- If an identifier has not been automatically generated, click the
button to obtain one.
- Click on Create to add the new question to the group.
