LogosLink version 2.0.0.2
Overview
LogosLink is a collection of applications and libraries based on the IAT/ML methodology.
Using LogosLink, you can create, edit, process and visualise IAT/ML-compliant corpora and other datasets.
What is LogosLink for?
LogosLink can be used to create, manage, analyse and visualise context, ontological, argumentation and agency models of discourse under the IAT/ML methodology.
In addition, LogosLink can be used to manage corpora of documents for multi-document analysis.
Ontological, argumentation and agency models are interconnected in LogosLink, so you can keep track of everything and relate it to everything else.
Usage scenarios
Although LogosLink integrates corpus, context, ontology, argumentation model and agency model management, you donĀ“t need to use all of them in your project:
- You can focus on context to work with themes, positions and agents.
In this manner, you can carry out context analysis, study which agents support or attack each position, and perform other context-level operations.
- You can focus on ontologies to work with categories, atoms, properties and associations.
In this manner, you can carry out ontology analysis, study what concepts are mentioned in the discourse, and perform other ontology-level operations.
- You can focus on argumentation modelling to work with locutions, transitions, propositions, inferences, conflicts, rephraes and illocutionary forces.
In this manner, you can carry out argumentation analysis, study how a text justifies what it says, and perform other argumentation-level operations.
- You can focus on agency modelling to work with questions and responses.
In this manner, you can carry out agency analysis, study the beliefs, desires and intentions of the speakers, and perform other agency-level operations.
- You can focus on corpus management to work with documents, authors, topics and labels.
In this manner, you can carry out corpus-level analysis of multiple documents, manage intertextual references, obtain corpus statistics, and perform other corpus-level operations.
Usage modes
LogosLink consists of a main Windows application, named LogosLink Desktop, a version conversion application, named LogosLink VersionConvert, plus a set of libraries.
Usually, you will work by interacting with LogosLink Desktop.
You can use LogosLink VersionConvert to convert corpora and files created with previous versions of LogosLink so that you can use them with LogosLink version 2.0.0.2.
If you are interested in interacting with the libraries directly, for example, if you are planning to develop your own software tools on top of LogosLink, then please see the LogosLink Programmer's Guide .
