LogosLink User's Manual · LogosLink version 2.0.0

Language

The content of documents in a corpus or the text in ontologies, argumentation models or agency models can be in any language. However, some languages have special support in terms of specific features and analytics.

Details

You can work with text contents in any language in LogosLink. Each document in a corpus, and the text content of each ontology, argumentation model or agency model has a Language property to indicate the language of the associated text. It is important that this property is correctly set so that LogosLink can apply the right language-specific rules to the text when processing it. If you want to work with a text that is in a language other than those supported by LogosLink, you will need to set its language to Unknown.

When you add a document to a corpus, or create a model, LogosLink tries to guess the language of its text content by analysing it. You can also set or change the assigned language manually.

Language-specific rules are applied in the following situations:

  • When obtaining text statistics.
  • When parsing a text for segmentation in an argumentation model.
  • When running many kinds of analytics that parse and process the text contents.

In any of these situations, texts with an Unknown language will be ignored.

Supported languages

The languages currently supported by LogosLink are:

  • Catalan
  • English
  • Galician
  • Spanish

Additional languages will be added in future releases.
