Package and Unpackage a Corpus
A corpus package is a file that contains a complete corpus.
You can create a package of your corpus to back it up or send it over email.
And you can unpackage a corpus from a package file to re-create the original corpus on your computer.
Follow these steps to package your corpus:
- Open LogosLink Desktop.
-
Open a corpus by clicking on the Open button in the Home ribbon tab.
Alternatively, open the backstage and click on Open to select or browse for a corpus.
LogosLink Desktop shows the corpus in a new window.
-
Make sure that all the documents in the corpus are active, because only active documents get packaged.
Check that the document count on the status bar indicates that all the documents are active.
Also, check that no filter or collection are active.
-
Open the backstage and click on Export.
A page with export options will show.
-
Click on Package.
An Export Package dialog will show.
-
Select the directory and file name for your package.
Click OK when you are ready.
- LogosLink Desktop will create the package and store a copy of your whole corpus inside.
You can perform the reverse operation to re-created a full corpus from a package file.
Follow these steps to unpackage a corpus:
- Open LogosLink Desktop.
-
Click on Corpus from Package in the Home ribbon tab.
A dialog box will show.
- Enter the full path to the package file that you want to unpackage, or use the
button to browse for the right directory and file name.
-
Specify a base directory for the new corpus.
By default, LogosLink Desktop suggests a directory with the same name as the package file in the default directory for datasets.
You can change this, of course.
-
Click OK to unpackage the file and create the corpus.
LogosLink Desktop will do it and show the new corpus on a new window.
